12 July 2024 – The International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) at Universiti Malaya (UM) hosted a closing dinner to celebrate the conclusion of an inspiring week for the Timor Leste participants who took part in this year's Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) hosted by INPUMA. During the closing speech, the Executive Director of INPUMA, Datuk Dr Anis Yusal Yusoff, congratulated all Timorese participants who completed the program and assured UM and Malaysia of continued commitment to Timor Leste via MTCP and other initiatives of Malaysia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The MTCP closing dinner, hosted by INPUMA at the Grand Wyndham Hotel in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, was a meaningful event. It was attended by several guests and eminent persons, including the newly appointed Ambassador of Timor Leste to Malaysia, His Excellency Lisualdo Gaspar, Datuk Dr Ilango Karuppannan (former Malaysian Ambassador), Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob (Adjunct Professor of INPUMA) and his wife, and Mr Devrin Jack (Undersecretary of the International Cooperation and Development Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia).
