Policy Lab

Policy Lab: How to Formulate a Good Policy is a programme organised by INPUMA, Universiti Malaya provides an overview of public policy processes, key concepts, and issues. Participants can explore the role of government, policy analysis, and the impact of public policies on society. The training program emphasizes the development, implementation, and evaluation of public policies as illustrated in policy life cycle consists of policy formation, policy adoption, policy implementation, policy implementation evaluation, and policy maintenance (Figure source: Harvard Catalyst) as well as the on-site exposure through visits to various impacted location and societies during the program.

Program Objectives:

1. To provide the participants with adequate knowledge on public policy by understanding the concepts and theories of public policy
2. To equip the participants with the skills of analyzing the policymaking process, including agenda-setting, formulation, implementation, and evaluation.
3. To enhance the potential of participants in assessing the impact of public policies on social, economic, and political outcomes.
