13 November 2024—The International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) at Universiti Malaya (UM) hosted a lecture by His Excellency (H. E.) Mr Vanu Gopala Menon, the High Commissioner of Singapore to Malaysia, delivered an insightful lecture on Singapore's public and foreign policy. Coordinated by the Programme Coordinator, Dr Aslam Abd Jalil, the guest lecture was attended by students of the Master of Public Policy (MPP).
The lecture served as a vital component of the outbound preparation for MPP students who were set to travel to Singapore for a week-long study on public policy. Students participating in the ZQA7027: Local and International Public Policy Practice course had the unique opportunity to learn about various public policy areas, processes, and critical institutions in Lion City.
This annual outbound trip is designed to give INPUMA's MPP students firsthand experience with real policy works and formulations, allowing them to familiarise themselves with the complexities and challenges of public policy in practice—the session with H. E. Mr Menon was essential in enriching the student's international understanding and application of public policy.
