The International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) was established in August 1999. It is a Responsibility Centre (PTJ) under the Portfolio of the Deputy VC (Academic and International). Among others, INPUMA offers a platform for discussions on topical issues in public policy and management and operates as a training centre for public administrators and managers.

INPUMA has conducted countless training and capacity building programmes over the years. It carries out training for public officials locally and internationally mostly through the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Program (MTCP), which is under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A training programme entitled “Managing Diversity in a Globalising World: Charting the Future Direction” was held from 23 – 30 September 2018. A total of 10 participants from 9 countries (Nigeria, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Bhutan, Lesotho, Uganda, Guinea and Madagascar) attended the programme.

At the closing ceremony, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) Professor Dr Kamila Ghazali congratulated the Executive Director of INPUMA Professor Shakila Yacob and team on another successful training programme. She later presented certificates to all the participants.
