5 July 2024 – During a recent trip to Sarawak, the International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) and Centre for Universiti Malaya Leadership and Professional Development (UMLEAD) from Universiti Malaya (UM) engaged in meetings and public policy outreach with several prominent agencies. The Executive Director, Datuk Dr Anis Yusal Yusoff, and Senior Assistant Registrar, Mr. Fareen Ali, represented INPUMA and UMLead during the Sarawak policy trip.
INPUMA and UMLead were invited for courtesy visits with key strategic partners and public policy stakeholders at the state level. This included a courtesy visit with Mr Ismail Said, Senior Vice President (Human Capital & Relations) of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS). Additionally, both INPUMA and UMLEAD had cordial discussions with Tuan Haji Japri Bujang Masli, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Sarawak State Library), and YBhg Dato' Mohamad Haji Ibrahim, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Sarawak Petro Chemical Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Petcham).
The trip resulted in fruitful discussions and vital interests for INPUMA to organise a public policy masterclass in Kuching and for Sarawak partners to participate in the upcoming UMLead's Purposeful and Principled Leadership (PPL) Programme at UM.
