Datuk Dr. Anis Yusal Yosoff giving is speech to the new students
The International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) welcomed a new batch (semester 1, session 2024/2025) of Master of Public Policy (MPP) students and organised an orientation day in conjunction with the Universiti Malaya (UM) Week of Welcome (WOW). The event occurred on 05 October 2024 at My Artisan Kitchen Café, an annexe to the UM Chancellery Building. During the orientation, students received a briefing on the academic program structure, course registration, timetable, university regulations, and campus life. Dr Aslam Abd Jalil, the MPP Programme Coordinator, and Dr Muhammad Danial Azman, Deputy Executive Director for Academic & Student Affairs, delivered the orientation briefing. Datuk Dr Anis, Executive Director of INPUMA, also lectured on the importance of integrity in academic and real-world public policy scenarios.
New students, including Malaysian and international students, had the opportunity to meet INPUMA academics, administrative staff, and senior MPP students.
This year, WOW's orientation day for the new MPP students was historic as UMPPA was officially launched and introduced to the new students. After the briefing session and orientation lecture by Datuk Dr Anis, students listened to UMPPA's newly elected President, Abdul Hadi M. Firdaus Ooi, and his team's brief introduction to student activity planning and the support system on campus. The program ended with a lunch break, during which students and staff at INPUMA interacted and got to know each other.
